PERSONAL TRAINING FAQ's
IN-PERSON & ONLINE
When are PT appointments available?
Personal training is available Monday to Friday, mornings through to evenings. When inquiring you'll fill in a few questions which will include how often and what days you'd like to train. In addition, in the goal setting questionnaire you'll be asked to specify your preferred and available days and times.. Appointments are subject to availability but you can book earlier to ensure you keep consistent days and times. Booking ahead is encouraged.
Whereabouts is it?
For in-person outdoor training we meet in Centennial Park (Paddington Gates location), Paddington Uniting Church Grounds (under full cover) or Trumper Park. I will always do my best to accommodate your preferred day, time and location but I may require some flexibility e.g. the location may depend on the day and the time you wish to train as well as the weather conditions.
For in-person indoor gym based training we meet at Regenesis Fitness, Edgecliff whilst for in-home in-person training we're at your home/gym.

For online training we'll agree a channel that works for you the best. FaceTime, Skype, What's App are all possible for example. Or, if you have a channel/account you'd prefer to use let me know!
What public facilities are nearby?
At all outdoor locations, there are bathrooms, café(s), parking, benches, water fountains within walking distance (and even barbecues at Centennial Park)!
Can I even afford this?
Yes, it just might be less expensive than you think. The prepay credit system means you use your credits as you go. No constantly thinking about paying per week or per month. You also get a nice discount for buying a bundle of 10 sessions up front each time - price list here
What happens during wet weather?
We don't cancel due to wet weather (the outdoor environment is part of outdoor training). In fact, some of the best sessions are when it’s wet!
I will always take every precaution to protect your health and safety while you’re training e.g. I set up near shaded areas should we need protection from the sun, the rain and whatever else comes our way! Note that our training session will be relocated to the Paddington Uniting Church location (under full cover) during heavier or persistent rain conditions.

If you are concerned in general about wet weather or sun damage for example, I provide gym based, online and in-home personal training options, so please do ask me about these options too.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your training session you are required to provide 24 hours notice or you may forfeit 100% of the cost of the session. See what "Do I need to book? What if I can’t make it to a session?" section further below.
Will I get dirty?
If you train outdoors let’s just say, don’t wear white! If it’s a wetter day you might like to bring a change of runners or even socks to change into afterwards but not usually necessary for at least 9 months of the year here in Sydney!
Do I need to buy any equipment?
In general, it is a good idea for all in-person exercise sessions to bring a sweat towel, a bottle of water, sun cream and/or insect repellent if you think you might need these. If the ground is damp a large towel works better (not so slippy). Clients are encouraged to bring their own equipment to outdoor training, if available, but otherwise equipment, as needed will be provided by Outright Change Fitness.

For online training you have the option of getting some training equipment to use at home which will be incorporated into your sessions, but if you choose to not get any equipment that’s ok too! I can work around what you have at home and there’s always exercises you can do without any equipment at all. The most important thing is to get started so you can keep working towards you fitness goals safely.
Is a heart rate monitor or smart watch required?
I strongly recommend you have one, however you can still train without it! Accountability and communication is the key to success, so I highly recommend using one to help track and maximise your results.
Do I need to book? What if I can’t make it to a session?
You're required to book in and cancel at least 24 hours before, except in medical emergency circumstances which, you are required to cancel from your session asap before.
If you have a medical emergency or for example you have flu symptoms the morning of your session, and suspect Covid-19 or have been told to self-isolate you are required to cancel your appointment immediately and provide a medical certificate or equivalent official confirmation of this event. Your session credit will then be returned.

Your session takes lots of design and preparation and the slot is blocked off to other clients who may want it so I think this is fair.
I have injuries, can I still train?
Yes, however you may need to consult your Doctor or Physiotherapist first. Your Personal Trainer is more than happy to work with other professionals when necessary. As your session is personalised, I will develop your program and sessions around your injuries or any other limitations you may have. In many cases such as bad backs, and knee and shoulder injuries, I will give you exercises to strengthen and improve the muscles and joints around injuries you have. Most clients see dramatic improvements. If it’s something minor, such as a stiff back at the end of a long days work, chances are it’ll feel better than it has for years after just a few weeks of Personal Training.
What results can I expect?
The sky is the limit! Check out our some testimonials for an idea of what’s possible from only one or two Personal Training sessions a week plus a little common sense in regards to food.. These people all started out just like you, so if you can make one or two sessions a week just like them, there’s no reason you won’t be sharing your story in a few months time as well!
Can I bring my kids or my pooch!?!
No worries! If training outdoors so it can make it a really nice experience. Please ensure you follow park requirement to clean up after your pet. Please also note that as I am focused on ensuring you exercise safely and effectively I am unable to mind or be responsible for children or pets. It is up to you if you feel that bringing your lovely children or pooches along won't be disruptive to your training. Same applies to online as well.
